Mise en abyme...

Phil has mentioned looking at Mise en abyme so i decided to get straight on doing some research into what it was. at first you may be thinking what the hell is that, but i can assure you we are all familiar with the idea, if not the name of it. The term is originally from the French and means "placing into infinity" or "placing into the abyss". The commonplace usage of this phrase is describing the visual experience of standing between two mirrors, seeing an infinite reproduction of one's image. this relates to my idea because the town inside the box is a reproduction of the actual town the musical box is in.
